Winter Street Chic

If you have been following me on Instagram since I first started my fashion page, you’ll see that my Instagram photos have changed dramatically. From being a “teen” fashion account with headless shots, colorful outfits, and crop tops to transitioning to more of a basic look to what I am now, which is more street chic style. What I can say that influenced my style this past Fall/Winter season is definitely my age and stage in life.

Last summer I got married and moved states away to Northern Ohio where the climate and lifestyle was nothing like I’m used to. Though the city I’m currently in isn’t as fast paced or as classy as I’d like it to be, the reason for my move was nothing more than for graduate school.

Being my age and attending a professional school I realized I had to act and dress my age. I finally ditched all my crop tops and opted for more of a city look. Luckily when we moved, it was cooling down so it was easy to dress more maturely (because every girl knows how classy fall looks can be).

I hoarded all the coats and sweaters I could get a hold of and tried my best to create outfits that are not only warm, but also chic. The look I am sharing below is very simple to recreate and definitely looks and keeps you warm.

The sweater I got from H&M has such a nice fit since it’s not too constricting and loose enough to give an oversized look. The turtleneck isn’t too tight on me so I don’t feel like I am choking. Though it was retailed for $50, I got mine on sale for 30%. I can say it’s one of my favorite sweaters because it doesn’t itch or feel too cheaply made.

I got this coat from Topshop retailed at $125. I read some reviews about it and was skeptical since it was a three-star rating online. However, I was able to see it in person and saw how much I NEED (more like want) the coat!! Though it’s not very thick, it is one of my favorite coats that I own because of the fit and length of it.

I decided to pair the outfit up with my favorite boots from Aldo. I am loving the ankle-high boots and I hope the trend doesn’t go away for awhile! Then I threw on an oversized beanie to complete the look!
